Why can't all people be blessed with some sort of special talent that will get them out of poverty?

I had heard that. We all can't be rich monetarily, though. Someone has to do the less paying "dirty jobs" for there to be civilization. The poor will always be with us.

This is a ridiculous question. Harry Potter was conceived by JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer does not compare. Don't get offended, i'm just stating my opinion. I'm a fan of the Twilight series too, but that doesn't mean stephenie meyer is a good writer. She's decent enough, got lucky with a simple plot that is addicting for teenage girls, but that's it. She could not create an entire world like rowling did, harry potter would not be the same by anyone other than her. have you read stephen king's comments on meyer? . . . . . maybe you should take a look at that . . . .

Yup. And the question IS; how do we know the homeless person panhandling for a $1 outside of Starbucks- does NOT possess a special talent of some sort??? We DON'T- and never will- until we take the time & make the effort to care enough, to figure out what kind of HELP that person needs. I'll bet my life that J. K. Rowling is NOT one of a kind...

Yes, I do know that she was poor, and nearly homeless. She also had a dream to be a writer, and she never gave up, and begin writing the ideas for the whole series on paper napkins in a coffee shop. Many other people who are homeless could possibly succeed if they have a dream and are willing or able to change. There is a gentleman, I believe in the Chicago area, who was homeless and living in a public bathroom with his infant son, who worked as much as he could. He took the baby with him to the temp jobs, educated himself and now has his own very successful company with many employees. He was on the news just recently; I wish I could remember his name. I was so impressed. It can be done, it just takes determination and hard work. It is encouraging to see people succeed in spite of all odds. Have a good night!!!

Some sources say that she claims the story about writing the beginning of the story in the coffee shop and living in an inhospitable flat was merely a myth, that she would never live in such a place. I think her site also says that she wasn't actually in poverty.

If all people were blessed with a special talent, what would make them special in the end?

She was actually on welfare...and a little broke but not homeless. Everyone is actually blessed with an excellent talents we as humans have the free will to release these talents it's just how far we take it. All in all it's our choice to excel at what we are good at.

Yes, I knew. She had only enough money to send her manuscript out to two book publisher. One of the book publishers, Bloomsbury, took it, Scholastic aquired the American publishing rights and the rest, the rest is history. Incredible luck some people have. There might have been a chance Harry Potter would never have made it to the public, where it would be only a decent sale, but Luck prevailed.

Actually, every single person is blessed with some talent, most of us just don't know or don't want to know.
If our talent helps us in life or not, that's our part of it. Use your talent the right way (like J.K. Rowling did) and you'll get what you deserve.

Harry Potter wouldn't be as popular, Stephenie can't write as well as JK, but she comes up with good ideas. And Stephenie would probably not finish as her final book would get leaked. lols. Love all the originals tho.
