Around 8 months.
When I had my son, I was due February 1, and I had one shower in January, and one in December.
I think that they were timed pretty well, because by then I knew what I was having and had picked out a name and could get the nursury set up without feeling like I was jumping the gun, and also wasn't feeling to fat and disgusting and about to go into labor to enjoy myself.
But I still had enough time left to get all the strollers and bouncy seats and changing tables set up and pre-wash all the little clothes and pacifiers and bottles without feeling rushed.
My sister-in-law had her's in July for a November due-date, and that was too early, because she couldn't set everything up without feeling silly since she wouldn't be having the baby for months yet, and also she didn't know yet whether she was having a boy or a girl, so just about everything she got was white and yellow and green.
She did that so another sister-in-law of her's could attend the shower while on leave from the army, though, so she kinda had to have it early.

Most showers are given in the 7th or 8th months of pregnancy.

after 7 months.... its usually better just a couple of weeks before baby is due... mommy to be will get all excited looking at all those gifts for baby .... and the longer she has to look at them well... its just no fun... but anytime from 7th month on is ok...

Whenever you want to have one...I've been to one when the person wasn't even showing but it takes the fun outta it cuz people wanna rub your belly an stuff at the shower...

well generally you should atleast be 8 months pregnant and it should be the month before the due date so if your due in say april then you would have a shower in march.

most baby showers i went to they were in there 8th month i never had one so i'm not totally sure but i really don't think it would matter
