Not chemically, but the connectors on the containers are different. The 30lb bottles you get from the HVAC supply stores will have the coarse threat (R-12 style) brake line flare connectors. The ones you get at the auto store or Sam's Club will have the fitting that your R-134 lines will thread on to. Good luck. Oh, the price went up last year from around 60 to 200 bucks.

No, R134a is R134a no matter what the application. The alphanumeric designation identifies the gas. The thing that will vary is the amount of R134a that is put into a system. An automobile only holds a few pounds of refrigerant gas but commercial systems can use many times more than that.

no difference except for the price..also most automotive 134 products have lubricants premixed with it.
