My mom uses something called "Skin-So-Soft" to get price tags and stickers off of just about anything. That might work. Or there is this stuff called "Goo Gone"- and that might take it off, but I don't know how harsh it would be on your wall. Good luck

DONT USE STEAM it will damage the wall paper or the paint!!!

stickers come right off with lighter fluid...put some on a paper towel, saturate the sticker with it, then use an egg spatula and scrape it off

WD 40 will leave a greasy spot on wallpaper but will not damage paint, brings them off easily, but not as easily as lighter fluid

just use caution!

you may damage wallpaper with anything, wallpaper is a big pain in the butt! but lighter fluid is the least likely

Run a curtain rod or cord and hang a drape/curtain on the wall. Hang large squares/rectangels of color in frames (like poster frames) on the wall. If it is a small wall, you could place a large screen in front of it. Make your own by buying the framing for a "screen door" and replacing the screen with colored leatherette or fabric and painting the frame. If $$ is a problem, find a used refrigerator box and cut off top and bottom so that you have only the sides and create either a screen or pseudo wall out of it. Use regular wall paint to paint it. If you can't put holes in the wall, this would be strong enough to stand on its own against the wall. If you're creative you could even use a jigsaw to cut the top of it into an interesting design before you paint it.

Goo Gone. It shouldn't bother your walls, just wipe the residue off with a soapy cloth, then rinse with a wet cloth. Takes about 2 minutes.

If none of these other suggestions work, try Krud Kutter that you can purchase from Home Depot in the Paint department. I haven't found anything yet that it can't take care of!!

Magic Eraser sponge. Or try baby oil, goo-gone, or a warm hair dryer to melt the glue.

Use a spray bottle and spray away . The water will run but the sticky adhesive will start to lift up. It take patience believe me.
