there is a fuel pump relay that goes bad on these cars,,i had a probe,,and sold it about a month ago,,i had it a long time,,ad over the time that i had it i put 3 relay,s on it,,never a fuel pump,,the relay is located under the hood in the black plastic box like deal that is mounted on the firewall,,it is also marked which one is the fuel pump,,you can try this,,if it doesn't work,,there is one other thing that will cause it not to start,,and this is a biggy for a probe,,the distributor,s in these cars go bad ,and i mean really fast,,that's why i sold mine,,it cost me 300 bucks for a used one,,after that i decided i had driven it enough,,if you will check and see if your getting fire to the plugs ,,you can rule this out,,but if you do find your not getting any fire,,you will need a distributor,,and they have no serviceable parts,in them,,a new one from the dealer was almost 600 bucks,,so i decided it was time to let it go,,it ran good though after i did replace the distributor,,you may get lucky if you do have to replace it,,and may be able to find a good used one,,but try what i said,,and see if that help,s,,i also own a repair shop,,so i do this stuff all the time..god luck with it,,i hope this helps.

I would start with your engine electronics, like your spark plugs and wires. Then I would look at the distributor cap and rotor. Then the coil. Make sure all of that is making good connection. Do you remember seeing smoking coming out the back of the car? White smoke? How about a sweet smell in the air when it was running? How about the water and anti-freeze supply in the cooling system? Is that full and topped off? When you look at the spark plugs, are they covered with oil or do they look wet at all? Normally plugs will have some char on them but nothing that can't be wiped off. If they're fouled with something, like green stuff, you could have a problem with your head gasket. There's any number of things that could be the problem. Even the computer could be bad which would certainly cause any number of issues. If none of the other things I mentioned look to be bad, get the car into a shop and have them run diags on it. Oh yeah, smell the plugs as well, if they smell strongly like gasoline then your injectors are probably fine.

If it is not getting 12 volts to the pump you may have a fuel pump relay bad, that is usually located on the fire wall of most models.
Also you may have a timing problem that can cause pre-detonation that will cause overheating as well, does the electric cooling fan run?
If it has one of the little plastic radiators in it you can easily clean it yourself by removing it and looking for a series of little aluminum tabs that hold the top and the bottom of the radiator together when taken apart you can use a long piece of wire to clean out all the gunk in the cores.

Start with shooting starting fluid in the intake. If nothing happens when you turn it over, you've probably got a bad coil (in the distributor and hard to find a replacement). If it shoots flames or fires, then you have spark but maybe a fuel problem. Since you tell me it got hot, I am leaning towards a bad head, blown head gasket, and/or timing belt jumped and needs replaced. Find out if it's firing, check the timing and go from there. Good luck.

first factor you desire to do is examine the oil. once you get it replaced, have them take an intensive look at it and see in the event that they see any coolant jumbled jointly. this could be an illustration of a cracked head or a broken head gasket. you could examine the dipstick and cap. There could be some sludge. that doesn't inevitably recommend it is from that (moisture can get in there in basic terms from the air if it is not appropriate sealed), regardless of if it a minimum of supplies a beginning factor You reported the alternator belt grew to become into replaced. Is that still hooked as much as the water pump? i'm questioning if there is a few thing incorrect with the rigidity in the belt itself. verify to get the thermostat replaced. You reported it is out now. you like it in there.
