i know this sounds crazy but how do people get to run shows like 106 and park and vh1 top 20 countdown and stuff like that....how you get picked and stuff like that...i want to host a show like that someday....but need a little information....please no bullshit i don't have time for mess...thanks

Well, if you have a pitch you would send it to a studio or a network. And the network goes through thousands of pitches a day, so your would have to very different, and very extreme to catch their eye. Then if they like it, they would contact you. You also have to have your pitch copyrighted. If you want to host a show, that's completely different. You would need to look out for open auditions. But chances of someone coming off the street and getting a host job is slim to none. Most shows look for celebrities now to host shows for ratings, or they look for people with acting backgrounds. In either case, getting out there, and getting small jobs still builds your resume.

have to already be in the biz or know somebody, MTV used to hold a contest where they would allow people to compete to be hosts, i dont think they do anymore.
