There is no use complaining about life's ups and downs. I see no use in complaining about any problem unless I am prepared to help do something about it. I can light a candle that others will see. If everyone lights a candle, the darkness will fade away.
If I see trash on the sidewalk, I need not complain when I can pick it up.

Cursing the darkness doesn't achieve anything or help the situation in any way. Lighting a candle is the first step to finding a way out of the darkness.

If you light a candle, you can change your current situation for the better. If you curse the darkness, you are not doing anything about the "darkness" problem.

to light a candle means we do some kindness to other people.. and to curse the darkness is the opposite.. that's why lighting a candle is better..

the first action is a positive action as compared to the second action which is negative. lighting a candle signifies hope and optimism, while cursing darkness means being passive, sarcastic, pessimistic, unresourceful, lazy, and stupidly unprepared not bringing with him some matches or candles to light on when brownout comes around.
