If you are looking to buy one for your girl, you have to take her with you, or get hold of one of her bras to check size. Don't guess.
If you are just wondering, then you are SOL. The band size is the number. That's how big around she is under her arms. The cup size is the letter. That's the difference in the measurements from the largest part of her breasts and the band size. 1" = A, 2" = B, 3" = C, and so on. A cup isn't a universal size. A 34C is actually a smaller breast than a 40B. The only way to know for sure is with a measuring tape.

you cant guess! a woman has to be properly measured for bras. if your trying to buy a gift for your partner then sneak a look at one of hers (the size is on the tag at the back) make sure she isnt wearing it at the time! and if you are unable to get this close to a woman then you shouldn't be knowing what bra size she is anyway!
please dont guess...that is why there are so many women walking about with weird looking boobs! people dont buy the correct sized bras!

a bra size has a number like 34 and a cup size like A B C D and so forth higher number bigger around under the boob. D is a large cup size a would be small.

I assume that you want to buy a bra as a surprise present. Simply go to the bra shop and tell the (hopefully helpful) sales lady that it's a small handful, large handful, orange, grapefruit, water melon, or other appropriate fruit.
You could always 'grab a handful' and tell her that you want one bigger or smaller than hers, but this is rather risky, and the bruise from the slap round the face can be hard to explain ;o)

who cares there are bras out there that can make a girl look like she has a b cup then she takes the bra off and theres nothing there so you can go ahead and keep guessing lol

1.-if you are going to buy one for gift forget it because you can see it good, sexy, nice size or whatever and make the girl piss not every girl feel the same with a bra "x" so save yourself a problem and look for something else
2.-bring her to the stores any one she likes and pay for it
3.- if it is for you try asking for help inside the lingerie department there its even any kind of days that you dont have something to do just go out and tried as many as you need to find your right one

If you want to know because you're buying a gift for your girlfriend then try to get a sneaky look at other bras that she owns. If you cant take her with you explaining that you want her to pick something she feels good in, and you pay for.
If you're asking for asking's sake then its just practice over a few years.

If this is for a surprise present for your girlfriend, why don't you just have a sneaky look at her bras, when she's not in them, there's a label inside that will give you the info that you need.
