I would have a talk with your mom.
You should have gotten some sex education in elementary school too.
It is perfectly normal to have irregular periods when you first begin to bleed.

The blood in your underwear did not turn brown bcuz you put a pad over it. I t turned brown bcuz as blood oxidizes (is exposed to air) it turns brown. You can get it out with a little hydrogen peroxide puored directly onto the blood. Also, it is normal to only bleed for a day or two up to a year after the start of your cycle. Your body is trying to get used to this new thing happening to it. Your body is changing more now than any other time in your entire life. Your hormones will go up and down thruout the month and at times you may want to cry and other days you may be a b****. It's all normal though. You need to go see your Dr. now and tell him/her that you started having periods, you need to learn how to do self-breast exams and all of the "normal" things women learn to do. Welcome to an exciting time in teenagehood for all women!

Since you just started menstruating, it may take a few months for you to settle into a normal cycle. Count 28 days from the day you spotted and mark it on your calendar. You might want to wear some protection when you get close to that day, just in case. Oh, an just a tip to preserve your wardrobe: hydrogen peroxide will take blood out of fabric, try to get it out before it has a chance to dry. On certain fabrics and dyes, the HP will remove the color or damage the fabric. Welcome to bloody womanhood! Blessed be....

Probably fine, blood turns brown when it dries, and is darker later in your period. If you're worried ask your doctor, it's a good idea to schedule an appointment anyway as they can explain everything to you.

usually when you first start out. it is very weird. mine came for two days and left and didnt come for months. and it was brown because it dried up. usually these stains can be removed with a detergent and cold water. but make sure you try to wash it immidiatly. the quicker the stain will be to come out.
