I have hockey tryouts THIS weekend!!! No broken toe is going to stop me, but I feel like an idiot. I stubbed it twice in the past ten minutes because I am hurring about trying to do this and that. How can you tell if it is broken? Right now, I cannot even walk on it. Any ideas on what to do with it so that I will not do any more damage to it now or this weekend? Oh, and don't tell me not to tryout, I worked too hard this summer to throw it all to waste. I AM trying out, so don't tell me not to.

Actually, I am not sure if it is broke or just jammed really bad. I have broken my arm many times, and that did not hurt at all. But this hurts really bad.

you should put some Ice on it to bring down the swelling, Once the swelling goes down you may beable to move your toe, your toe is not broke just Browsed. But if you fine "discolor" in your toe as if blood is not flowing, keep ice on it and you should see a doctor.. if this is so you probably have a nerve and vain pinched cutting off the blood flow... ..If the swelling goes down. and it still feels the same as when you hit it, you should go to a doctor.. The only thing about that is I don't think that they can do anything for a brokin toe... But please do not hold me on that because they probably can,....
And for your feelings and pride,,, you shouldn't feel like an idiot,, I thought I have brokin my toe 4-5 times ........ Stuff happens

Unless the bone is sticking out or it is hanging at an odd angle (then you may need surgery), all you can do is buddy tape it (tape it to the next toe). Go to the drugstore and get medical tape, don't use household tape. Ice it for 15 minutes at a time and take ibuprofin for the pain. Try to rest it as much as possible. Good luck.

Unfortunately, there is nothing a doctor can do about a broken toe. Elevate, ice, wrap, pain medication... whatever makes you feel better. Just go easy on it as best you can, and wear shoes when you're rushing around, to keep yourself from jamming it again.

I fractured the toe subsequent to my little toe, as soon as. All you'll do is ice it a couple of instances an afternoon till the swelling is going down. If it's damaged it is going to heal on it is possess and whether it is jammed- simply provide it a couple of days, if no longer I could pass see your surgeon.

I have broke my little toe and the one next to it. Don't tape it. Right now start putting ice on it. Twenty minutes on and twenty minutes off.....Take something for the pain. If you ice between now and the week end you will be fine for the try outs. Yes, I was in immense pain.
I fell and broke my little finger and the one next to it........Extremely bad pain........But, they say pain or no pain, could still be broken. But they don't do anything for toes or fingers.

i broke a toe in a minibike accident (wearing sandals, smashed foot into concrete slab) and it turned purple and hurt for 3 weeks. Then the nail fell off. But if all you did is stub it then it should stop hurting in like 15 minutes max.

i know that this is not what you want to hear but the last time i checked hockey is a rough sport. teeth get knocked out, jaws get broke you even get knocked out every now and then. so tape one toe to the next, take some alive. and answer some question, to get your mind off your toe.

tape it to the toe next to it and cushion it a little and take some ibuprofen. Ice and elevate it before and after tryouts.

you might of not broke your toe you could of fractured it and if this is the case you Will be able to move it but it Will defiantly hurt. there is not point going doctors most probably. just strap it and try not to wear closed in shoes. it should heal its self in six Weeks.doctors can not do anything. but if you have any bouts then go and have Esra's just to make sure. i went to the doctors yesterday for braking my toe and that is what they told me.
