Reason I was wondering because latley I haven't seen any of their planes around LAX?
I was wondering about their finacial situation if it or did effect the LAX route, lastly if Varig sooner or later doesn't fly the LAX to GRU route will TAM or GOL pick up this route?

Varigdoes not fly that route
now Air PEru flies the route
LP 604 Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun Dep at 1930 and arrv at -655 the next day
the time taken is 15 hors and 25 mins

They are going to some serious financial problems. They are not doing international flights anymore. And hardly domestic the only rout that for sure they are doing right now is Sao Paulo - Rio de Janeiro.
It's really hard to know if they will survive ....

Gol don't have airplains for this rout they just have 737-900, they will have to invest a lot of money for this .
TAM has a better condition to take this rout as they already has flights to MIA .

The company was sold recently, and until it's reorganized, it's operating only a few domestic routes. TAM and GOL are not picking up any of VARIG's international routes.

they are going out of business..

i went to brazil in june .. and booked through Varig... it was the biggest mess ! ... we got stuck in Miami for 6 hours ..
then stuck in Rio for another 6 hours ... all in all...
we waited in 2 different airports to 21 hours .. and only flew for 11hours !!

we were a 1 day late getting to our destination

but i dunno.. have you tried their website ?

was on their website...did not see any scheduled flights to or from lax
