Unless this elevator was free-falling to hell, there is no way it would take so much time. 30 minutes? You must mean 30 seconds. And if I have 30 sec to live, there is only one thing to do: Pray. (especially if it's free-falling to hell :-)

not much to do if you cut at all those things. Maybe run a couple laps around the elevator? play with the buttons? 30 minute rant over the emergency phone about how their elevator really isn't that great? maybe see if there was a transform button so it turned into an airplane? you never know whats possible in an elevator thats in freefall for 30 mins...once built the space elevator couldn't even be in freefall for that long could it?

You probably won't die. In the 1940s, an airplane crashed into the Empire State building and severed the cables to an elevator where one of the attendants was having a cigarette break. She went straight to the bottom and lived. Nowadays, there are brakes on the elevator shaft that keep you from reaching the bottom.

Elevators only free-fall in the movies. They have several safety interlocks. But if I was in it with a hot chick, I wouldn't tell her.

30 minutes? How tall is this elevator shaft?

I'd wonder how tall the building was that it would take me a half hour to hit the ground!

I would ignore your rules and escape or jump, or make a parachute or kill or cry or scream or call people

That's one of the tallest buildings I've ever heard of, but okay- I would pray to God to take care of my children and hubby.

I don't care, please stop spamming the boards with useless junk! You've been reported, repeatedly... Seriously post ONE QUESTION at a time, not 3-5 of the SAME DAMN QUESTION. Stop cluttering the boards, please?

Same junk, different day, apparently...
