It's a toss-up between Chicago and Carolina for the #1 spot. I'm gonna have to agree with you on that Steelers D for the third spot. Here's a little preview of that Carolina D (specifically Julius Peppers) for you non-believers. The following was pulled from www.foxsports.com:

'Freaky' play
Play of any camp thus far? During one practice in Spartanburg, Delhomme dropped back, looked right and tried to dump a screen. The operative word here, however, is tried. Enter Pro Bowl DE Julius Peppers. This freak of nature extended his left arm, caught the ball in his left hand like he would a tennis ball and kept his arm extended straight as he took it back for what would have been an easy yet jaw-dropping TD. Just not fair. DEs aren't supposed to be able to do things like this.

one million. Chicago - they have the least perplexing schedule this twelve months. 2. Carolina - Nasty, all day long. 3. Pittsburgh - The secondary would ultimately be getting into this is own. 4. new york Giants - final years DEF + Lavar Arrington... frightening.

Da Bears...returned all 11 starters and not a one of them is older than 29.

It's a dogfight for second between Carolina, Tampa Bay and Jacksonsville.

I would say Carolina is the best, followed by the Bears, and number 3 is the Colts... they are much improved now

1-Bears (Rank 1 defence during regular season)
2-Giants (Didn't allow a TD in 5 games)
3- Panthers (They Have Peppers!)

Steelers lost alot of their good D players.
