do i have to go for a doctoral degree or can i just do it with a masters? is their a specific type of certification i need or can i just go straight into the practice? if you do need certification do it also count towards being a school psychologist?

In most states a psychologist usually only has to have a bachelors degree and an inteernship. (4 years +1) some therapists start right out of college in hospitals and nursing homes.

To be a psychiatrist you need a doctorate because you also need a medical degree. Psychiatrists prescribe medicines.

to become a psycho therapist get your masters in Clinical psychology, you will then need to practice for 600 hours and it will be a great start. You can get certified after you put in enough hours just not a doctorate, you will be fine with a masters.
