Spiders are attracted to damp areas. The air in you house may be really damp. Find a dehumidifier and use it. It'll take all the water out of the air and soon you'll start noticing less spiders. I know that it sounds weird, but it works. I had the same problem in my basement until I started using a dehumidifier. It's summer and it'll suck to have it on, but it's also okay to run your air conditioner too.

Spiders love flies. Get a bunch of flies and invite them to your nearest enemy's house after you dump all the flies over there.

No, seriously, take Kitty out for several hours, along with your houseplants, and bomb the place with an insecticide bomb.

check around the outside of your house, if you have a lot of things leaning and cluttered, or a lot of spaces for spiders to lurk in like rocks or bushes. These gathering spaces near the doors and windows make a launch pad for the spiders to walk on in when you come in, I have cleaned up around my house in the last few years and very few come in anymore, I do live on a crawl space house and there are crickets that help too.

I'm not sure what it's called, but there's this new stuff you spray around the entire perimeter of the inside and outside of your house. It kills the bugs in your house and keeps new ones from coming in. Ask someone at like a Home Depot about the product. You spray it along the baseboards inside and outside your house, and on the inside and outside of every door and window. I heard it works great.

Well I hate them lil buggers too and usually my cat assists me on hunting them down - she either catches them , or stares if they are out of reach for her.
All you can do is kill all the ones you can get.
Dont throw them out, they do return, dont try to flush them down the sink, they can swim - kill em!
Then take care of dusty corners and do some cleaning.
And have those fly nets on those windows you leave open - so there wont be new ones getting in.

Get rid of whatever they're eating. They don't show up just to annoy you (and your cat) You may have carpenter ants or termites.

Crickets. Big ones. They eat spiders and bugs, but you have to deal with the cricketing noise. I don't kill mine at all, and have no bugs.
