Right now I use cingular, I'm in a family plan. I was a former AT&T user. I currently have a Motorola V220 and It's ok. I really would love to get the Razr v3 though. I love the way the phone looks. I got my phone last chrsitmas, so only about a year has passed. I was wondering if I am alowed to switch phones now. would I have to pay like 300 for it? I just wanted to know how much I will have to pay for the phone, I'm not getting the 2 year contract with it because I'm already signed up! Thanks a lot!

You have to terminate the account, pay 233 dollars, and make a new contract. I know this because I am a cingular customer, and I wanted the RAZR too, but it was out of stock when I wanted to buy it. So now im stuck with this F A G G Y nokia that sucks, im stuck with it until 2007-2008. Im getting Tmobile after this, i have already tried it and it rocks, only 1 year of contract.

Your going to have to pay full price, but here is a great idea. Are any of the lines on your account still with ATT phones or haven't upgraded the phones yet. If so, just upgrade that phone to get the discount. A minute later after the upgrade. Tranfer sim cards around, and your all set. People do it all the time. That's one of the great things about Cingular.

Heres another idea. Add a fourth line to your account, and just switch sims.

another thing you could do is call cingular customer service and tell them that your phone is messed up and you would like to do either an early upgrade or an exceptional upgrade... they will let you if you ***** long enough. i work at walmart in the connection center and have helped customers do this many times. the only downfall is that they will probably make you sign a two yr upgrade but pay the one year upgrade price for the phone.

I just upgraded to family and added the MPx 220 as my 2nd phone and my contract basically got extended 2 years and I got the discount, I was already under a 2 year contract of which I completed 1 year myself. Just talk to customer sales on your phone.

both have equivalent negatives and positives. if you're unhappy with cingular you could swap for sure... yet I actually have found that an similar situation many times comes up with the subsequent provider.

If you're on a contract, you might want to wait until it runs out, because then the phone will be much cheaper.
P.S. I wanted that phone so bad, but my mom didn't want to get it for me!
