The same way you teach *any* language to *any* baby--by speaking it to them. If you sign to a deaf baby, she/he will learn it. If you sign to a hearing baby, she/he will also learn it.

My oldest is deaf he began seeing a speech and sign coach at 6 months we all learned how to sign!

u can point and gestur at things... drs encourage to talk to them as well as to gesture at things... there are programs to teach the child but u must remember to sign and the only like 5% of deaf people can read lips without gestures... dont let ppl tell u that u have to only talk to the child and not gesture adn or sign....

with pictures.... You point to the picture and do the sign.. over and over.. just like teaching a language you can hear.. except the child will be seeing....
The other senses get stronger to make up for the sense that is compromised.

american sign language, they teach it to chimps,so we should'nt have any problem. by the way, helen keller was blind and deaf an amazing thing but she learned to communicate
