I wish I could tell you how to successfully keep neon tetras. Back when I had aquariums, I tried to have a few of them in my tank with Gouramis and other fish, and never could keep them alive. Then I decided I'd need to devote my smaller aquarium solely to them just to make sure of what I was doing, but I didn't want to focus that hard on just them. I believe, but am not sure, that Cardinal Tetras, the ones that look almost exactly like Neons except they don't have the white bottoms, are a bit hardier than the Neons. They're bigger and have the same beautiful red and blue that the Neons do, and on a slightly bigger fish, and are beautiful, but they didn't seem a successful project to me, so . . .. But don't give up hope. I had a hard time with them but many people can do it easily. If you have a good pet store, see what you can get from those who care for the fish. They might have someone there who really knows about them and can help. Good luck. God Bless you.

They're not the hardiest of fish, and best kept with other similar, small species. They like the water a bit warmer than most, about 78. When I managed a pet shop I can remember fully half of neon shipments arriving dead, with many more dying before they were released from quarantine. No, they don't generate light, but are irridescent... they reflect light.

I'm stretching here a bit, but I believe water temperature 72 to 76 degrees F. They're pretty durable. Keep the pump running with a nice charcoal filter and feed'em once a day. They make a tetra "chow" but I can't remember the brand name.

No the don't glow, but they're very reflective. I used to be able to see mind in the dark reflecting moonlight.

I don't know if they glow but you can feed them regular fish food flakes, they are quite ordanary or should I say popular fish. I think the reason they are called neons is because of the way the light reflects off of them. If they glow for you let me know. It will be the first I've hurd.

No they do not glow in the dark. They are shiny when the light hits on their scales. You take care of them like any other fresh water tropical fish.
