What do you collect and why?

I collect beachglass/seaglass because I think that it's beautiful and I love to display it on my end table for everyone to look at and feel.

I collect longeberger baskets, cookie jars, lunch boxes and Hallmark christmas ornaments. I got the first cookie jar as a gift from a friend and then started picking them up at sales and from relatives. I work at Hallmark and started my collection in the 80's. I think collecting can become compulsive you need to set a limit or amount your willing to spend or it can get out of hand and once people know you collect a certain thing they can get ridiculous with what they bring you and buy for you. I collect Chick tracts (The little Christian comics here http://www.chick.com ) my parents gave me some when I was a kid and they're just so entertaining, I had to have more. They're also valuable collectibles. I collect coins too, mostly wheat pennies and bicentennial quarters. My dad collected coins and I thought that was a cool hobby when I was a kid and it followed me into adulthood. I also collect books just because I hate to give away (or throw away) books.

I collect memorbilia of the New York Yankees.

Why? Because I'm a fan of the team, and have been since I was 6 (almost 30 years).

I collect original Nintendo games and at about 491 by my last count. I collect them because any one of my friends can play a game they liked from their childhood and all games for that system only take about 2 minutes to learn instead of a freakin' training video.

i collect spoons from every place i've ever visited. i just love them and some are very ornate and beautiful, especially the ones from other countries. i admire the artistry, plus it's a great keepsake. when my father was in the military he collected tea pots from various places overseas and i thought how awesome. when i got older, i started my own collection.

I am collecting blue stuffs because I super duper love the color blue. And I also collect stuffs that has no. 23 in it, because 23 is my favorite no.

Golf balls, because I find them, then I hit them, then I find them again. It has gotten so that I find more than I hit, so I collect them. It seems like I have more of them than I have ever hit so somebody out there doesn't collect them, they must just buy them. Some people buy alot of them.
