If the drug Midol gets rid of bloating from your period, does it get rid of bloating from eating too much?

Midol PMS, Multi-Symptom Pamprin, and Premsyn relieve some of the problems commonly associated with premenstrual syndrome, including cramps, headaches, backaches, bloating, and weight gain caused by water retention. Reduce your salt intake which will help with bloating. It doesn't get rid of bloating from eating too much.

Some formulas (not all) of Midol contain a mild diuretic. This helps bloating caused by water retention (normal during your period) - it flushes out excess water so that it's not stored in your tissues. Bloating from eating too much is either caused by gas, stomach distention or occasionally too much salt intake. The only one Midol (or any diuretic) would help with would be too much salt intake as salt causes your body to retain water.

I think there are types of Midol that are supposed to help with bloating, too. It probably has a diuretic in it that helps you shed some of the water you retain prior to your period. Hope this helps.
