Many of them are uneducated, ex-gangsters, probably murderers and do drugs, Most of their songs are full of filthy vulgar words promoting drugs, prostitution, etc... yet they're so popular, successful and idolized, Why is that? What happened to our world, Where are the good old morals?!!

The ones who deserve the recognition and success are the record companies that made them and promoted them. The rappers themselves are nothing but stupid pawns in the business of music.

Without these huge companies and MTV, these "rappers" would either be in jail, dead, or flipping burgers. As far as talent, no they have none. Everything they do is manufactured by the promoters and executives. These rappers are just faces to put on the garbage that they spew.

Well i say yes there music is diffrent and yes some of them do have things that are not good to see in there video's but i say you shouldnt judge on that if you look many of them have had a bad background or you could say a bad child hood or maybe thats all they know andgrew up around and maybe why people like it so much because many people go through it and experience those things so they/ that artist become a hit. So if people do keep looking at the outside of people and what they do then you will go nowhere but going behind the seens and see why are they like that then you will never know because just as you judge them and think cruel about them guess what somebody who may not have liked you could have judge you the same way when they dont even know you but just seeing on the outside.
So i think yes rap artist deserves all the recognition they get because they are displaying what they know or been through and even if you may not think so its there own kind if talent. And what there good at. So give them a break and dont be so quick to judge because what they rap about if you listen yea it may bot be appropiate but its the real world and all of it is true and some have been through it themselves so they tell it.

I think that some rappers do deserve recognition but you are being very one sided. True some rappers use expletives and derogatory statements and that is not proper. A lot of them are idolized because young kids use that success as goals and role models because they lack appropriate or sufficient ones or they've been denied the "good life", However all rappers are not like that. So many rappers are intelligent with a good message and aren't as vulgar and are trying to give a strong message to they younger generations. Some of them are Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Pharoe Monch, Black thought. Just so many.

I don't listen to rap, and don't agree with most of what their songs are about (gangs, etc.), but of course they deserve their success! They are entertainers, and they are popular for a reason. People like them! The really successful ones are great businessmen: they know their audience and what they want and they give it to them in a great package and put on a real show.
A lot of these guys are family men and it is just an act.
Other than faith based music, almost all music genres contain some explicit themes. Pop, country, rock, you name it.

Same goes for you professional football players, basketball players and baseball players. A majority of them did not complete their education yet they make more money than most of us that have. I love to listen and dance to hip-hop putting words together as they have is a talent. Try and see if you can do it, bet you can't. They are rapping about what going on in the world today. Look at what we have in the White House and whats going on overseas, do you consider that good morals as well? If so you should really look and read what going on in politics.

do you know that they are uneducated because majority of them have gone to college and they might not have had the same opportunities that you had you get into alot of bad things living in the hood its what you do to get out and accomplish is what makes you a better person and they are doing it through their careers as musicians and just so you know rappers arent casuing these teen preppy boys to commit murders in their schools and commit suicide its usually their own families angelina jolie is greatly idolized but let put her in perspective for a second she commited adultery with brad pitt women love colin farrell he does drugs paris hilton is a whore we all remember one night in paris and if you want vulgar language you can go to any red neck comedy show and get an ear full.

You can choose not to listen Parents are responsible for what their children hear and view. I do not think all rappers are the same. You can find many sexual predators and murderers in our churches. What about their morals. We just have to do what we can to protect our children and set a good example.I do not think it is fair to categorize them.

Whether you may not understand rap or the rap world, I certainly do not, I give respect to anyone who can communicate their feelings and where they come from in any art form. HOWEVER, I cannot give dues to the ones who rap about hoes, pimpin, and pushin. I think old skool artists like RUN DMC and Grandmaster Flash get "props"

No, they do not deserve the recognition they get. I believe what you say is very true! They have taken an art form and use it to degrade women, disrespect authority, create negative stereo types, and create sexual deviant behavior. I am in the process myself to quit listening to this stuff.
