No, not really, but to you find the word, "jerk" insulting?

No definitly not! It was never meant to be construed as an insult by any means,but in this day and age,yes ma'am is considered an insult,as are a lot of other harmless phrases.I think if someone is that insecure ,and find it as an insult,maybe "They" are the ones with the"problem".

It depends on the context and the chick.

Like if you say, "she is a hot chick" -- some chicks will like that.

But if you say "look at the fat chick" -- no chicks go for that.

In summary, it depends on the chick and what you are saying about her.

It depends on the context in which you are using it.
"I know this chick by the way, she's got a really cool van and I dig her shoes."
See, that's painless. But used this way:
"That chick has a nice pair of knockers."
That's degrading. Unless she's proud of her knockers, then give it a whirl.

Definitely. Don't use it unless you are VERY close with a girl/woman and have been for some time. Otherwise, a slap would be justified.

nope.i do not mind.but some people take it to heart.i do not know what's the problem but my friend said it's not nice to be called an animal.so,oh well.

it depends on who says it and how. a friend of mine calls me that daily and i dont take offense. he means it affectionatly. a leering stranger says it and he gets an earful...
