My son is worried that when he gets into the showers in highschool that he will be made fun of because he thinks that he will be the only one with a hairy penis. He goes to a private school and never had health class before and hes never showered with other guys before.

His worry is real and it does make sense--especially if he is a freshman---life looks different when leaving middle school but tell him that he will not be the only one and tell him that some will be hairless to some degree and they too will feel uncomfortable becasue they do not have body hair; everyone has a level of fear and insecurity but once he does shower he will see that his worries will go away Some kids will have more and some will have less body hair or no body hair. Some kids will have developed sooner and might have a bigger body than his and some are late bloomers tell him to relax and he will laugh once he sees the other boys.

Why the heck are you asking this question on here? Don't you know the answer to that? I mean you're an adult right? You know what puberty is right? Unless he has hair all the way down to the tip it's normal. I can't believe you're a parent and you don't know this.

He can trim it also. A lot of guys do these days. Women like it short and clean.

80% of 13 year old will have lots or some hair on there privets. But it can take till 18 sometimes. Then again some 11 year olds do.

But yes I would say 80-100% of the boys in his class will have some or lots of hair on there penis. This goes for girls too.

teach him to trim. it is a safe, sanitary habit. if the hair is not too heavy no one will notice it. if someone is still getting close enough to notice then maybe your son needs to talk to you about more than just pubic hair. even if the hair growth is not normal (you didn't give details about the extent of hair growth. some hair is normal even on the shaft.), trimming will make it less apparent. his future girlfriends will thank you as well. nothing worse than a surprise hairy crotch.
