A music CD holds about 700 MB. So that makes the 512MB USB drive hold about 73% of what a CD holds. That means if you can fit 20 tunes on a CD, then you can fit about 14 tunes on the USB drive.
OK, let's put it another way, if a CD can hold 80 minutes of Music, the USB drive can hold about 58 minutes.

On a 512 drive, I'm guessing 50 to 60 songs, depending on the size of the songs.
To get them there open both windows, (one for where the files are now, and the other for the 512 drive) then just drag the files you want over to the new drive.

yes you can. the usb drive is just another drive where you can copy files. On an average each mp3 is around 5Mb so you can get ~100 songs in one 512mb drive

Depends on what bitrate was used to encode your MP3s. The higher the bitrate, the bigger the file. If your MP3s are encoded at 128K, figure approximately 1 minute per megabyte.

yes you can save mp3 into the USB drive. and i just calculated that it can fit about 1536 mp3 into it.

it depends. what is the size of the mp3? there are some mp3 which sometimes contains two albums album and at high bitrate-
