Normally there is a listing for it at Start > All Programs > Accessories > Calculator. You can rightclick on the listing, do a copy, and then right click on the desktop and do a paste to put an icon for it on the desktop
If you can not find it on the menu, do Start > Run > type in:calc
Click OK and it should start

The calculator is part of Windows and you probably just misplaced it.
If you're running XP just click on Start, then Search. Type "calculator" in your search. I'm sure you'll find it. When you do, just drag it back to the desktop, or where ever else you want it.
