myself personally would go with ozzy, dio makes sabbath too dark and agressive, which wasnt what sabbath was about. But sabbath happened to put out better songs with dio, they were fast songs, while most of sabbath's with ozzy were slow. The occasional fast ones (paranoid, children of the grave, NIB) turned out to be hits.

Boy, THIS question is one that's sure to start a few fistfights...

Personally, I thought the Ozzy years were superior to the two studio albums with Dio (three if you count the reunion effort "Dehumanizer"). There was just more of a devil-may-care attitude towards the music - I mean, they knew they were creating timeless music, but they weren't doing it for that sake.

I will concede that some of the tracks on "Heaven And Hell" are outstanding as well. I just never got into "Mob Rules" (not to say that there wasn't at least one turkey from the Ozzy years).

They both are better on ther own. Ozzy years I would have to say. But Dio carried the band than any other singer Sabbath had after Ozzy.. Sabbath had many singers that just didn`t make the grade. Ian Gillian Born Again album,Ray Gillen,Glenn Hughes. They all sucked!!! Dio was the best to carry on the band after Ozzy.
