My car may need motor mounts. Following instructions, I started my car, held down the brake while giving it a little gas. The motor rose up, more on the right side. Am I on the right track? Is this a big job? Is it expensive? Thanks

not really a big job and shouldn't be all that expensive. you should just need to replace the one side. Remove the long bolt that goes thru the bracket that attaches to the engine, then using a hydraulic jack put a piece of wood on top of the jack and lift the engine up enough to give you enough clearance to remove the mount from the cross member. you may need to remove both long bolts and jack the entire engine up in the front to allow for enough clearance to get to the mount on the frame. Then just install the new mounts and bolt everything back up

use a hydraulic jack to take pressure off the side youre changing. once jacked up remove the bolts you may have to rearrange jack to do this. just take your time you can do it. id advise though to do both sides both sides under 30 bucks. will be best . the strong side will weaken the other weak one.
