No I am not. There are far too many loopholes that allow perpetrators to wiggle their way out of justice. It also seems that when the rapist is a family member, the punishment is a mere slap on the hand.
I know that these types of trials are by no means easy, and there have been many cases in which an alleged victim cries rape when there was no rape. But in most cases it literally is the victim on trial, not the alleged rapist. Today's fashion is a defense attorney's dream.Everything about a victim whether it be her dress, personality, past history, etc is fair game. You just can't bring up an attacker's previous assaults, abusive relationships, etc, because they say that it is not relevant.
The statute of limitations is a joke. A woman can live with the devastation of a rape for the rest of her life, but you only have about 7 years to prosecute a rape case. That's sad. I think they need to do some revamping of these laws.

The only thing I know is the time they have to serve in prison sure in the hell isn't long enough! A theif and drug attack is given longer to serve than rapist. It's not that I don't agree with the law when it comes to the time a theif or drug attack has to serve, I just think a rapist and murder should have to serve more time. Some might disagree with me or not like what I have to say, but if someone was to malist or rape my child or family member I would want to disable them completely. Then have them serve the rest of their life in PRISON!

If there was a specific way to tell 100% without a doubt that a rape had occured and this was a the person that did it then I would support much harder punishments. However, sometimes it does break down to he said she said. A friend of mine lost his military career and 2 years of his life to a he said/she said. Weird thing is it was at a party where alcohol was involved with both. I still have trouble with how the testimony of person that was intoxicated is considered credible.

Ditto with Scooby! Too many cases of "he said"-"she said".Too many times the accusations fly because of rejection, remorse, or retaliation! If proof is definitely positive, penalty should be sure and carried out to the fullest extent permitted by law, no slaps on the wrist as is so common in our courts.

They should be castrated. And then forced to watch acts of rape, like in a Clockwork Orange.
