to me, rap takes a lot of talent. Not just anyone can become a good rapper, i know i will never be. It consists of rythem and most of the time heartfelt lyrics that are touching. If you dont think rap takes talent, you must be listening to the 50 Cent type of rap. and im not saying this because I like rap, which i dont, I just think its wrong to say there is no talent in a certain genre of music you probably know nothing about.

Are you KIDDING? Try it. If you can take a topic, and Rap it, the you're justified in saying it takes no talent.

You may not appreciate it as an art form (with which I agree) but it certainly takes talent to Rap. I can't do it. If it took no talent, anyone could do it.

Give Credit where credit is due.

Okay, so you don't like rap. I don't either. I think it's annoying. But I guess there's a talent to being annoying to a certain kind of people like you and I and being appealing to people who are unlike us. Some people might think it doesn't take talent to play rock music but I would have to inform them that I play 10 different musical instruments and rock music is my specialty...I made good money playing rock music for many years...I have seen a lot of people try to play it and fail miserably...so let's say you try to create just one work in the rap medium and see if appeals to anyone who likes rap. Chances are you won't be able to do it and they'll laugh at you...at best. It's all in what you like. I didn't mind paying $80 a ticket for my wife and I to see Ozzy in concert and lots of people hate Ozzy...and I wouldn't TAKE $80 to go watch a rapper. Different strokes for different folks is all it is.

I still haven't found any....I mean, sure, there are a few good rap songs, but most of them are so offensive and derogatory towards, well, women in general, that it disgusts me. I'm glad to learn that I'm not the only one who feels this way, I wasn't sure since everyone seems so obsessed with these anti-music rap mogel people. I'm not saying they don't have talent, it's just the things they rap about are so stupid, mundane, offensive, ect. and it really isn't ok.

I don't know about you, but when I try to rap I always get tongue tied. They can speak so fast without making a mistake, I don't know how they do it. Can you tell me where's the talent in singing? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that there's no talent involved.

Rap actually takes skill and talent. I wont waste my time explaining 'cause i'm sure its already been done, but you should try writing a rap & rap it to someone and get their opinoin. if they think its good then maybe you could say it doesnt take talent, but since you dont know dont knock it.

Music is a complex set of sounds. It is made up of pitch, beat, rhythm, melody,. dynamics, tone color, texture. Listen for these sound elements in your next RAP experience.

Can the Rap artist inspire you with these basic elements? I try to listen for these specific elements, and judge each one. Sometimes the beat, rhythm and dynamics are quite interesting. Other times, the tone, color and texture of the sound is unusual.

There is talent to develop these musical elements, and the lyrics that they have written.

One of the talents involved is known as 'flow' - rhyming pattern. That is, which words rhyme with which words over the course of a few sentences. Really good rappers can have lines where almost every word rhymes the same, or every other word rhymes together, with the balance of words rhyming together. That is flow.

some rap songs are good. i work in a night club so i get to hear everything! although the song.........."they see me rollin, they see me hatin" , has a good beat but s*!t lyrics, i think songs that talk about hating cops, shooting your "homies" just insites hatred and violence.
in that there is NO talent or creativity
