My two daughters, ages 7 and 9, love listening to Hilary Duff as do many of their friends. And I'm guessing there are few 40-somethings who have heard as much Hilary Duff over the last year as my wife and I.

It's caused me to wonder what Hilary Duff's demographic is, that is what age kids listen to Hilary Duff? I know she's popular with elementary school kids, but do middle school age kids listen to her? Do high schoolers? Or at some age is she considered uncool?

Our whole family has been pondering this question so I figured I'd put it out here.

Thanks.

I am 20 and I actually enjoy one of her songs; haven't heard the rest or bought her cd. The song I have heard and like is "Come Clean"

Well my little sisters, 7 and 9 also, enjoy Hilary Duff. I, a high schooler, can say that ppl in my age group dont generally listen to her. She is, in my experience, not cool. The problem I have with Hilary is not her songs, most of them I actually like, it's her.

The girl can't sing.

Her lyrics are pretty good, though not all, but her singing is like forks in my ears. Generally she is listened to by girls in elementary and middle school. Beyond that she is a has been who can't sing, has had too much facial surgery and tries too hard.

Hope I've helped.......I'm glad to Hilary Duff bash anytime lol

Well at least in my experience the Hilary Duff phase doesnt last much past the tween years, maybe 11 or 12. After that she becomes 'lame' or 'uncool' if you will, or the kids are simply just exposed to new and better music.

I don't mind her. She is 18, and it depends on the kid. Depends on each kid's interest. Basically, where I live, I don't know many people who like Hilary Duff.

She's from the Disney channel shows so I believe her demographic would be preteen. I worked in a book and music store until recently and I never sold one of her CD's to a high schooler.

preteens (8 - 12 year olds) that like to pretend they are older and can relate to the "teen themes" she sings of in such an immature way.
