I think Civil War is awesome. It isn't just a super-hero slugfest. This is comics at its best - character driven. I like watching how the characters choose sides (or choose nothing like the Thing did) or give up altogether (Firestar). The tie-ins have been very well done and relevant. The best part about this story is that nobody can really predict exactly how it will end and that is just plain good story telling.

The whole thing stinks like yesterday's garbage!
No one is going to "win", ESPECIALLY the readers!
It makes for a dramatic moment and definitely helps sales now, but what do you do afterwards? No one seems to be looking at the big picture or thinking about the future.
For some time now, Marvel has just been "living in the moment". As long as sales are good, terrific. They have not been thinking about the long term consequences of their stories. I can just imagine a lot of retconning in the 2010s.
From another perspective, Johnny Storm is in a coma right now after being mobbed by civilians, and he never had a secret identity. How many villains are going to pursue their enemies and their loved ones now that they know whose under the masks? I can just picture some of the smarter ones finding lawyers and legally go after the richer ones like Tony Stark.
You can't "put the genie back in the bottle". A few like Daredevil and Captain America would be able to assume new identites. After all, they've done it before. But can you picture Peter Parker trying to be someone else? He has enough problems trying to be himself!
Yet if Marvel tries to spring upon us some "cosmic reset" of their universe like either:
*Doctor Strange "mind-wiping" everyone to forget the secret identites,
*Their version of an "Infinite Crisis",
*Or the whole storyline turns out to be a gigiantic "What If?" situation...
Then we out here in Readerland are going to scream very negatively about how irresponsible Marvel was to begin with and what sloppy storytelling their "resolution" is
So like I said, there are no "winners".

this whole idea just sucks!---I mean take the Avengers-how many times have Iron man been saved from a grizzly death by
by Cap and vice versa---and now they are at each others throats..==> JUST NOT REALISTIC AT ALL!!!
don't even get me started with the FF!!
The only long term thing that'll probably happen is a different line-up for the Avengers---maybe a new team----I just can't see Luke cage sticking with any team that Tony Stark is on! I see a new Heroes 4 hire is starting up - so i guess that'll get Cage out of avengers tower!

Well, seeing as they've blatantly set up Iron Man as a powermongering bad guy, i'm guessing the pro-registration faction will lose.
If I had to guess, Cap will expose a massive conspiracy or something in the eleventh hour to save the day and prove he was right all along. Not just some fanatical vigilante, no no.

I think its pretty interesting since there has been many time related comics about it.. to be honest I dont know about how it will end. I do however think it was pretty stupid for peter parker to show his identity.

No one is going to win in this. Once it is over, everything will probably go back to normal. Honestly, how long can these people be mad at each other? Not very long.
