Your divorce papers should have a visitation time table on them. If they don't then whoever did not have them last year should have them this year.
If this is the first year that you have been divorced then I think the father should have them on xmas eve and the mother should have them on xmas day.
Your kids are going to want to be with both parents and it would be really cool if you and your ex could put aside your differences for them at least at xmas.
Kids need their parents to remain at least on friendly terms.

What is rule 16? I have shared custody with my ex but have never heard of "rule 16". If you had kids at Christmas last year he get's them this year, you get them for Thanksgiving. That's usually the way the courts set it up.

You need you reed your papers from court and it should tell you what days he has and what days you have. When it comes to the holidays it is what ever holiday that you didn't have them on last year. If this doesn't help you than you need to talk to an lawyer that way you can get all the facts. Good Luck

I live in Australia so what does rule 16 mean exactly?
and I have no real ieda as to who gets them, sorry I cant help you.
