If you are breastfeeding about an hour on each breast. A baby can drink up to 8 ounces it depends on how hungry he/she is. On breast/formula a 2 1/2 week old baby eats about every 2 to 4 hours ( depending on the child).

A 2 1/2 week old baby should only be drinking formula. Your doctor will tell you that.

Normally a baby will eat the equivalent to an one to two ounces an hour so if he is going three hours between bottles he should have three to six ounces. Your baby will let you know if he is getting too much or too little. However, every baby is different and if you are concerned you should speak to your pediatrician.

The child should be breast fed for up to 6 months if he/she does not wean himself or herself. After 6 months or there about the child can begin to eat from the "family pot" re; mashed potatoes and some cereal. In the next 6 weeks if the child is not taking the breast complement breast feed with stuff like gerber baby food
