What can I do to prepare myself for heavy high school baggage?

I know everyone has there own techniques.... so what are they? how can I minimalize baggage? And should I be on the look out for a specific backpack too?

rent a school locker. although you might be tempted to leave all your books there and not study, but it works. personally i bring all my books to and from school everyday so that it spurs me to study. (takes a toll on height though!)
