My wife, who's originally from Eastern Europe, has never shown any interest in watching or learning the rules of baseball until this season (go Tigers!). She's asked me to explain the game to her, but every time I begin, her eyes start to glaze over. Is there a website or other resource I might use to help her out? Something that starts from the ABSOLUTE basics would be ideal.

Yeah, here's a glossary of baseball terms, put out by PBS.. very educational for the newbie, it will help you understand what people are talking about during a game. I reccomend you print this out, then watch a game on tv, or listen on the radio

If ABCDE are the defenders and Z & X are attachers, possession of Ball is with Z and X in the same time with an purpose of growing to be a pass run forward and crosses the line of defenders even till now Z bypass the ball in the direction of him. in this way X would be offside. X isn't offside if X did not bypass the defenders line befor Z passes ball to him. i'm sorry if i can not clarify. ( unfavourable English :()
