i need to know chemical and non chemical methods for controlling or eradicating this weed. Preferably not specific chemicals just which work better eg, sprays vs granular etc and what time of year to apply. Answers will need to be specific to the southern hemisphere so give seasons rather than months.

I spray pesticide for a living, but I live in the northern hemisphere. What I do know that would be universal is this;
When you use a spray herbicide, use it during the fastest growth season. It will cause the herbicide to be fully ingested in the circulatory system of the plant and do the most damage. You may have to spray a couple of times in that fast growth season and then follow up in the next fast growth season to completely kill the target plant.

I need to know the following before suggesting a course of action. One solution will not work for all instances od the problem.

First, how extensive is the problem. One or two plants, multiple acres, or thousands of acres that need control. Also where is the infestation occurring, in farmland, within a city, or near important waterbodies?

Second, how much and what type of damage is it doing?

Third, what part of the southern hemisphere?

Fourth, are you just treating a small area (your property) or in charge of widespread eradication of the weed?
