I have even seen it cross the road!!??!!??
In London around heathrow airport Concorde had its own pedestrian crossing! It is true, people would line up with their cameras to take pictures of it leaving its hanger and crossing the road to the runway, i too was sad enough to take such a picture!

My contract was coming to an end in Saudi, my company had paid my air fare to travel home.
But I wanted to leave Saudi on my last trip by concorde, (it flew Bahrain to Heathrow), I travelled to Bahrain and the flight on concorde cost me £300 extra ( $500 ) ontop of my company allowance.I paid this extra it myself.
The normal journey time was cut in half, it was like a journey of the future, I have never regretted the trip or the expence !
Now all sadly gone, we now have big elephant things carrying a thousand people, is this really progress??

I was blown away when I first heard a roaring sound,
and then Concorde, when I was 5 years old, 29 years ago
in Richmond, and then I saw it once a week, over
over Camden Town, it was a awesome piece of engineering.

Yes, I was living in Reading in the early '70s and used to see it pass by every morning on the way to the US, then it came back in the evening. Even that far from Heathrow it made a terrifying sound the first time I heard it.
