Basically, this trade is Ramirez, Rios, and Weaver for Wright and Lackey as Arroyo is slumping horrendously and is nothing more then an above average SP at this point.

Based on the trade by itself, I would probably accept, but you have an issue of your new OF. Since Rios hasnt played well since coming back from injury, the addition of Matthews Jr, Baldelli, or Monroe (who, by the way, is hitting about .400 since the All Star break and has his power stroke back) should help even out the trade.

Also, almost all stud rookie SP's (Weaver) tend to drop off the 2nd half of the season. Liriano missed his last start b4 tonight (which he lost) and Verlander just missed his start Sunday due to arm fatigue. Get the best value on Weaver while you can.

It's a fair trade and I'd probably make it. Your SP with the likes of Ohka, Lowe and Woody Williams is very weak. Lackey is better than Weaver and Arroyo while slumping is still better than the three pitchers I named. Wright is an upgrade over Ramirez. I really don't like your possible OF adds all that much. Are Ethier of the Dodgers or Cameron of the Padres available? They're outfielders who are in the FA pool in many leagues. Either should be more productive than Hawpe, Monroe etc. While you're at it, Cut Williams Lowe and OHka. One will need to go to grab an OF. The others because they're probably better FA SP. Cole Hamels is out there in some leagues and he's had dominant stuff his last few starts. I'd also take a chance on someone like Adam Loewen.

if it's a keeper league, I'd say no (despite how much I like Wright) - Rios and Weaver have very bright futures.

If it's not a keeper league, then I think yes it will help you more in the immediate future.

yeah, i'd go for it. your pitching staff needs some help.

also, i'd suggest picking up craig monroe to fill the hole left in your outfield. he's been red hot for the past couple of weeks.
