People with eidetic memory, eidetikers, tend to easily recognize patterns that they have seen before. It really isn't anything special and doesn't make them any more intelligent than others. They do have an advantage when it comes to repetitive tasks. They usually perform those types of tasks easier and faster since they recognize certain "optimized" methods. Throw something new their way and they'll be just as baffled as anybody else.

My psychology teacher says it's very, very rare. I don't think it makes you more intelligent, you can just remember what you see exactly.
