Making a plan is a good idea, it will never work of course; but can be adjusted and then it becomes a vehicle for evolution. Your plan evolves as time passes and circumstances change. This idea has worked in nature for millions of years or thousands of years if you believe the bible bashing evangelists. If for example you decide to save £50 a month for a second hand car and things go drastically different from your plan and you win the Lotto - just buy a new car instead! But if circumstances don't change too much and you actually save around £50 a month and at the end of the first year have £600. You can now at least afford the insurance and tax! Now evolve your plan and save even more for the car or buy on credit and pay interest and make some fabulously wealthy financier - even more wealthy. Personally, I just saved bought the car and said bugger the financiers, bank and blood suckers and didn't pay a penny interest. I do buy on a credit card though and use the interest free period. I can pay for my car insurance in September using my card - but actually part with the cash in October. That helps spread the payment a little without costing me interest or making any of those blood suckers any richer. Basic philosophy really.

Life happens whether we make plans or not.
However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't have some goals we would like to achieve. It could be as simple as 'buy a new CD at the end of every month', to 'retire at the beach at 40'. Of course the plans should be realistic, not something like (for most of us) 'achieve peace in the Middle East'.
What we need to do is not to get so caught up in our planning that we forget to live. Neither should we (and I am personally guilty here) just let things be and see where we end up hoping it's an OK place/space/spot...
Making plans and enjoying life are not mutually exclusive, I think we should have a longish term view of what we'd like to achieve, and enjoy the ride there while we sometimes steer a little bit, or paddle a little bit once in a while, so the slow river system of life gets us where we'd like to be.

Thats Quoting John Lennon And yes he was and still is right We can try to make all the plans in the world but plan b or c normally work out best. There is one law in the universe and that is the law of change ,that everything is constantly changing. So plan as we may you cannot step into the same river twice.

Yes, John Lennon was correct. He had an infinite wisdom. The world is a poorer place without him. And in some respects a better one because he was here. (I sure wish I had some of his insight).

No... i believe this to be a deluded view as i attempt to stay contained in the present. that would not recommend for one to brush aside one's destiny yet to stay grounded contained in the present thereby experiencing this existence and the adventure of residing.
