I am taking the rite aid brand because my OB would not give me a prescription without being seen first and my first appt wasnt for 4 weeks after I found out I was pregnant... During my first appt she told me to keep taking these until they were gone and then she would write me a prescription so I didnt get stuck with a lot of extra ones after I had given birth... She told me the Rite Aid brand are the same as prescription ones just available to women who dont have insurance to cover them so they are cheaper.

In my first pregnancy I insisted on tlking my prenatals no matter how sick they made me. Well I ended up getting so sick that I couldnt keep anything down including water so my dotor told me to take Flinstones which made my stomach feel much better. Well by this time it was too late I had lost too much weight and lost my baby. So with my second pregnancy I stuck with Flinstones, so that was my choice because it was the only one that did not make me sick. Good luck .

The first time around, I took a prescription vitamin called Duet throughout my pregnancy and while I was nursing. I took it because my dr. prescribed it and it was relatively cheap thru my insurance ($10 per 90, if I remember correctly). This time around, I'm just taking the GNC brand pre-natal vitamins from Rite-Aid. (without iron during first half of pregnancy, cuz I don't think my tummy could handle it, *with* iron, now that I'm in the home stretch and I'm not quite so nauseous).

My OB prescribed a prenatal vitamin for me, but after speaking with the pharmacist at three different pharmacies, I opted for the store brand prenatal vitamin. A big bottle (enough to last me my entire pregnancy) from Costco for $15.99, or one bottle per month for $35.00...hmm... :D
Both of my boys were fine...big (both over 8 lb.), healthy, normal babies.

The Dr gave me a bunch of samples and they made very nauseated, I called my local pharmacy to see how much they cost and the price was outrageous and I end up ordering the generic brand the pharmacy offered and they did not give me no nausea, thankfully they were good and cheap, insurance companies usually don't cover those brand that the Dr gives you.
so for me, it influenced my choice, the price and not having a sick stomach.

I took primacare because it includes the DHA/fish oil to help promote brain and eye development. My 8 month old is now on the verge of walking and is very smart (he will say "ball" when you hold it up) maybe its b/c of the vitamins :) Just kidding! Seriously though ask you dr about primacare or you can also talk expecta lipil (otc) in supplement form.

Prenatals made me sick. I took 2 Flintstones chewables instead. Many moms who get sick on prenatals find they can handle the children's chewables better.
