The Wii is what you want if you like a lot of little kid games, then the Wii may be your cup of tea. I am personally waiting for the new ps3 to come out, it has great graphics and a great game line-up, plus it does so much more than just play games. The ps3 plays music and video as well as Internet options. I can't wait for the ps3 to hit the market, but the Wii is good for younger kids.

My kids are pretty little so we got a V Smile system from V Tech. It's all educational, but they still love it because we got lion king, spiderman, and spongebob games. It's for ages under 8 though. Other than that, my kids don't care what they play, they enjoy any game on any system.

The Wii. It will be coming out (fairly) soon, and many of it's games are interactive with the controller, as in playing a golf game you actually "swing" the controller. Nintendo gravitates more towards kid games anyway, so it will be age appropriate (if you worry about that) and will keep them entertained. Plus it will tire them out.
If your looking for something right now, the Gamecube, also by Nintendo.

You can save some cash and buy a Nintendo 64. The cartridges are nearly indestructible! I love ours still...many years later.
Other than that - the GameCube rocks! We'll see what the WII has to offer in October :)
