HELP!!! My parents will not let me get a cellphone!?

okay my parents will not let me get a cellphone and i think i am old enough i am a teenager everyone has one....i even offered to pay for everything! how can i presuade my parents to give in to this question!!!! and how old were u when u got ur first cellphone my freinds were like 10!!!!!!! pleezee help and share comments

First of all cellphones were not invented when I was a child so I was not very young. you have to earn things in life. Keep your room neat and tidy be home on time. show your parents your responsible. Also do you have your own money to pay for the phone even pre-paid cost money.Tell your parents they can cheek you text messages when ever they need to, to show them that your not being silly with the phone. You have more important things to think about than a cell phone at your age. Like your education, for instance.

If you can drive on your own, your parents might be worried about you trying to drive and talk on the phone at the same time - even drivers with decades of experience can't handle both.

Spend the next year showing your parents how you can handle the responsibility you already have - work on bringing your grades up at school, come home on time every time, stick with your responsible friends and ditch the ones you know to be irresponsible...there are lots of things you can do. Don't even mention the phone again for a year, and keep a list of all the things you've managed to do in a grown-up manner. Then you'll be better prepared, and have a better reason to have a phone than "all my friends have one".

By the way, I was 28 when I got my first cell phone. Somehow I survived that long. ;)

Have your parents check out Virgin Mobile. You can pick up the phone at Target and purchase your own minute cards there as well. I'm a parent and when my children become teens this is exactly the phone they will get. It's a great phone with great service and it's pay as you go with no ridiculous plan, minutes, or taxes.

My wife and I use one too and I even turned my technology challenged In-Laws onto Virgin Mobile.

Give it a shot, all they can do is say no.

smart parents. Give it up nobody needs to be on the phone that bad. Here is another thing maybe if your friends had a baby on the way would you want one to. Just because everyone is stupid enough to think they need to be onthe phone all the time need to get there brainfixed.pending time with there friends is more important than ignoring them for the person they are on the phone with

Get a go phone from cingular or Tmobile or a Tracphone it's prepaid... and ur parents are tripping. When I got a cell phone I was 18. Hardly anyone had one... when I was in middle school I got a pager everyone had one or u were not cool. LOL

i am 14 i got my pre-paid tracfone only cuz my gran already had the phone once and let it get deactivated and she put 40 minutes on it for my for Christmas last year. Now I pay twenty bucks every couple of months for 60 minutes. I don't use one very often just when i go somewhere and i need to call the friends for rides to games and stuff.

ok there may be a reson that they will not let u get a cellphone maybe its cuz u did something and if you did you might wanna be more responsible tell them the cellphone will come in handy if like somthing happens to you or if you need a ride home tell then when you go out they will no not to wory so much and i was 9!!!!!

I bought my first cell phone myself. It was 120 bucks for the phone and plan. I pay 60 bucks every month. I was 18 when I got my first cell phone... which was last year. Trust me, your not the only one at school without a phone.

damn girl your stupid im only 11 and got an alltel service phone,show her that your are responsible enough to have one,your mama to strict i got my first phone when i was seven and i changed phones 3 times maybe its cuase im the only child YAY ME!! but anyways u should prover your self responsible how old are u.? but u should not all the times follow the crowd.
they can get u in trouble, anyways get a tracfone they cost 20.00 and the minutes for a 60 minutes card its 20.00 too
