When I was a child, I experienced a sighting of a dark, elongated triangular-shaped flying object. I was on my way to school on a sunny afternoon. It was silent and I saw it's shadow first which made me look up and see the object. It frightened me and I remember crouching down on the sidewalk. It's image has haunted me for years and now, some 50 or so years later, I keep seeing it in my dreams. I'm not sure of the exact tdate or time but I do know the exact location (a western suburb of Chicago) and could pinpoint where I was when it happened. It must have been in 1956-1959. I'd like to know if it possible that what I saw was from our planet or not. This is not a joke!

Until as they say, "Aliens land a space craft on the White House lawn", they will be a debatable subject. Unfortunately one that even with visual sightings and personal accounts from the most credible sources will be one that, without Hard to denie evidence, won't have an answer. Many persons have had an unusual, or UFO experience, and because of the social attitude will not admit nor discuss it. As for my self, I believe, and again I'm also thinking , earth is a dust speck in space and it would be more likely other life forms exist than not.

Undoubtly we are not alone in the Universe but all sightings of UFO's recorded to date have not been validated by scientists. Most of them are uncommon manifestations of common objects, others are uncommon objects, and the rest are manipulated images.
It may be that we are too far from the nearest intelligent life. But there will come the day when we find unequivocal evidence of extraterrestial life. Most likely the evidence will be indirect, I doubt that we will be lucky enough to be visited by an alien race.
