So that they can charge more money for the car. Everything is about money these days . . .
Even if a car says it can go 140, it might only be able to go like 110 because of this thing called a governor that keeps the car from going over that speed.

There's no speed limit on the main hwy in Germany, maybe all the good designers are German?
On the other side, regardless, would you buy a car that's only rated up to 70!!!
I wouldn't, I'd surely blow the engine!!!

I think the speedometer starts at 0 or maybe 5 mph does that encourge you to go r e a l l y slow?

yeah but they have to test drive it before its sent to car dealrships. and yes ppl race cars. iono why they do it. theyre encouraging speed because maybe when the costumer is not sure to get the car, the mph turns their minds around!! iono the best advice to give because it is a hard situation.
