I know it sounds really weird to some but I have found that if I examine my feelings and actions against this verse I am shocked at how many of my troubles are caused by my feelings of hurt pride or because I'm really just doing something because I want to impress people not because I think it's important.
It really hasn't led to me lacking self-confidence or anything it just make sme be less offended by others actions etc. I still take time for myself because I realize that it makes me a better teacher, mother, wife etc. they all deserve a well rested calm person in their life! Not one trying to run around impressing people with how well I can do things or how smart I am.
