A cunning combination of the Pilate, the Ostrich and the Indifferent-to-human-suffering. Quite the combo. Even Bliar was good enough to postpone his Caribbean jolly, the same can't be said of the British government though.

At a time like WHAT?? Do you not realise there is ALWAYS some sort of crisis he has to deal with? Do you not realise that even though he is 'on vacation' he is still President and he is still working...always in contact with the forces that be? Try listening to the news and reading about it.. amazing what you can learn that way. And don't even tell me that you don't take your vacation when you are due.. no matter what is going on at work..

There's no such thing as a vacation for the President. It's just business as usual in a different place. You try working under the pressure he is for 5+ years without at least getting away from the office.

A time like what? Terrorist attacks on Israel? No president would ever get a vacation if they waited for that to settle down. The president has staff and adviser's with him. He is briefed every morning. He has a whole command center at his finger tips. Him sitting behind the desk in the oval office would make no difference at all. Ain't technology wonderful!

I don't think the world's problems wait for Bush to go on vacation. Nor do I think him being at work necessarily speeds them along. There are a lot more factors at work.

You discovered the nasty secret!
The government really isn't all that important! Whether it was Clinton or Bush, they really don't have that much impact on your daily life!
In fact, I believe that the more time Congress and Bush spend on vacation, the better - that means less taxes to pay, fewer silly controls on my work, my property, my life!

He's ALWAYS on vacation from being president.....he's just a front man for the Cheney administration. He isn't smart enough, and has no real motovation other than a lust for money and a deep hatred for anyone without a trust fund.

He needs to relax or risk making a big mistake. Why does anyone else take vacation? He needs to get away from all of the world's problems. Everyone else does, why not him?

It is always "times like this". He has to take a vacation sometime.
Give him a break.

He is preparing to read his next book: My Pet Goat 2, the sequel.
I wonder what will be bombed while he is on vacation this time?
