He has a great on the field vision and is able to lead his team and give orders to his team mates on where to be on the pitch etc. Also he deals with the ref directly and is supposed to be the only one to talk to the ref.

The captain is the absolute leader of a team. He is like a coach on the field. He directs traffic, tell players what to do etc. He is usually the best and most charismatic player on the team.

When there is an incident, a captain has the privilege (and duty) to be the spokesman for his team. He can complain to referee or explain the situation.

el capitan is the coach's microphone. he is the communication bridge between players and manager and the on the pitch leader. its the sort of role where you leave your eldest child to babysit. captain is your steering wheel
