Some offices have cans (often placed beside trash cans) for things like soda cans/bottles or dry, loose paper. In an office it would be better to keep the paper separate from the cans, even if they can all be recycled together outside.

It's probably a good idea to hold a short meeting with employees about recycling, which it seems like you will include in the orientation session. Remind them that they should finish or pour out recyclabe bottles and cans, remove the lids, rinse out recyclable food containers, and only put dry paper in the can with the paper slots (many cans are made specifically for this, with a lid that will only allow paper). I don't know if staples & windows for envelopes are OK to recycle in your area or not--check with the local government website. Also check to see which types of plastics are recyclable (HDPE 1 and 2 are common for soda bottles, but heavier kinds are recyclabe in some areas), and relay that info to the employees. Also, remind them that pizza boxes are NOT recyclable b/c they have grease, etc. on them. This is a common mistake.

I suppose someone would need to call the city or county government to see about getting a large recycling bin placed outside the business, if there isn't one already. They will probably want to help you and keep the city dump from getting so full. It's great that you are trying to lead the employees to do a good thing!

Not sure where you live, but there must be a Green Party, or an Environment Protection group or something of that sort who could give you some very specific suggestions for your area. There's no point in relaying information from here, because different areas treat their recyclables differently and you need something specific to your region.
Good luck -- it's a worthwhile project!

We send back our used Laser Toner cartridges. I think the shipping labels come with the new ones.
