I am taking a math test for a job and failed the first time. I was always in the slow classes for math in school and barely had any algebra. But my question is there were these math problems that went like this. 2 , 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 then you had multiple answers. Now that was an easy one. And I think I was supposed to go 2+2=4 4+4=8 8+8=16 ect. What are these math problems called and are there any web sites that could help me study for this test? The test is for Comcast cable and I'm guessing its just basic math. Any help would be much appreciated.

You have the right idea. These are sequence problems.
3,6,9, x
x=12
1,3,4,7,11,x
x=18 (add the last two)
It is to test your knowledge of basic math skills and to notice patterns in numbers.
Google may have some problems for you to find.

This is just a problem to see if you can establish what the pattern is. The pattern with this is double the number in order to find the next number in the sequence. so multiply the last number by 2. IF the sequence was 8, 11 , 14 , 17 then you would see that each time 3 is being added so you would add 3 to the last number to get....20. It is just problem solving to establish a pattern.
